Strengthen Your Skills in Facilitating DEI

This in-depth, week-long intensive supports advanced-level DEI practitioners and those leading or desiring to lead DEI related work in their spheres to develop unique, highly effective DEI facilitation skills needed to create thought-provoking learning spaces and facilitate conversations with a race equity lens.

Participants will leave with hands-on training, practice, and feedback around a handful of techniques.

Training includes:

  • Using story as a tool for creating connection
  • Identifying and working with personal triggers
  • Working with and understanding white and BIPOC resistance
  • Facilitating from questions to create the conditions for others to do their work
  • Creating racial affinity spaces for processing racialized experiences
  • Developing tools for creating a culture of feedback as a gift
  • Combining adaptive, transformational, holistic approaches to technical, solution-focused, issue-based thinking

These topics, along with others, will draw on the Center’s own experience and expertise, as well as frameworks and theories from influential figures such as Ruth King, Resmaa Menakem, and Dr. Sharroky Hollie.

This training is led by Hanif Fazal, and will include a copy of his book,
An Other World.

We ask that participants come to this training with foundational DEI knowledge or having participated in Reframing Racism.

 In-person only at this time.
