A Culturally Responsive Approach to Supervision

It's a fact that diverse teams are more innovative, but cultivating a culture where diverse teams can thrive is nuanced and requires an understanding of how to build inclusive cultures within the workplace.  It’s both a skill building and culture building endeavor.

The Center takes an experiential facilitation approach to teach the technical and adaptive skills needed to become a more effective leader and supervisor. Participants will have multiple ways to engage with content, reflect on their beliefs and practices around leadership, and apply learning in a way that expands what is possible within themselves and their teams.

Session topics will include discussions and skill-building around:

  • Accountability
  • Giving and Receiving Feedback
  • Power Dynamics
  • Communication Protocols for building effective Supervisor/Supervisee relationships
  • Adaptive and Technical frameworks for addressing team challenges
  • Creating a Supervision Action Plan and Supervision Agenda

Join The Center to learn how to integrate these frameworks and tools into your management style. Participating leaders will walk away with:

  • Increased skill to supervise cross-culturally
  • Protocols and practices to support staff and building an inclusive team
  • Knowledge of DEI frameworks and concepts
  • A racial equity lens to apply to real-time challenges
  • A personalized action plan that centers on a real-time workplace challenge

Training consists of a 2-day intensive (in person) and five three-hour follow-up sessions (virtual)
