reframing racism

Build a Foundation

for Equity

Join other bold learners on a unique journey of transformation, where you'll develop racial consciousness and tools for becoming more culturally competent.  This training is more than information; it's a chance to develop skills and build connections with people who want to know how to do things differently and live more equitably.

Our introductory Reframing Racism training includes: Common definitions of diversity, equity, and inclusion, a theoretical framework for understanding and addressing systemic racism, and foundational agreements for connecting people with different life experiences and identities. We make these tools come alive in four critical ways:

  • We tell stories from our own lived experiences through a racial lens.
  • We provide experiential activities that demonstrate the tools in real-time.
  • We ask thought-provoking questions and invite people to reflect on how their experiences relate to the questions in small groups.
  • We intentionally slow things down to allow people to absorb their learning so it sticks.

Participants will walk way with:

  • New communication protocols that will help engage various perspectives in conversations about race and race equity.
  • New tools that you can bring back to your organization to facilitate greater collaboration, enhance team dynamics, and enable challenging conversations to take place.
  • A foundational understanding of DEI that can be shared with others, ensuring that when you initiate a conversation about DEI, everyone has a common starting point and understanding for meaningful engagement.
  • Access to a  broader network of professionals who are building their DEI understanding and skill alongside you.

This 2.5-day public training is open to anyone seeking to learn about and build skills related to race equity in their personal and professional life.
