What do you do?

Program Manager

But what do you really do?

I manage three of CEI's program offerings -- Equity Certificate, Reframing Racism, and Digital Learning. All three of these programs serve our clients' needs in different ways, but have similarities in the development of racial equity foundations. Every teacher will tell you that they don't have favorites, but admittedly, Equity Certificate is my favorite because of the deep connections I get to make with educators who are serving our students and families!

And what’s your story? As in, what makes you tick?

I am a granddaughter of immigrants, daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt -- each one of these roles plays an integral part in how I walk in this world. The love that my elders have modeled through stories, food, and time, ground me in my purpose to serve others with care and intention. My hope is to lead, as a parent and an educator, in just as impactful ways that leave others feeling seen, heard, and valued.

What’s rewarding about working at the Center?

I am so grateful to learn from and collaborate with the team at the Center, who model such humility with each other. Challenges in racial equity work are inevitable but knowing our team's dedication and commitment to our clients and each other is inspiring! The support and relationship we have with each other is unmatched.
